Dr. Martin McIntosh is a member of the Public Health Sciences Division at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Principal Investigator of the Center’s Computational Proteomics Laboratory. Dr. McIntosh has a long history of research in biomarkers and early detection of disease, especially ovarian cancer. He leads an early detection project of the Hutchinson Center’s ovarian cancer SPORE award, serves as one of three principal investigators of the National Cancer Institute’s proteomics initiative consortia, and is co-chair of informatics for the Human Proteome Organization biomarker initiative. Dr. McIntosh is Principal Investigator of the Early Detection Research Network biomarker development laboratory (for breast and ovarian cancer), and his laboratory leads data integration and mining for several cancer consortia as well as neurodegenerative disease research. His primary research focus involves discovery and evaluation of biomarkers and biomarker panels for early disease detection. He serves in leadership positions at the Hutchinson Center and nationally for biomarker discovery research programs.
